Details about the Destination

Bhimashankar is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga and sacred place. Bhimashankar is located in the village Bhorgiri in the ghat region of the Sahyadri range. Situated at an height of around 3,250 feet, Bhimashankar is surrounded by hills and is covered by thick green rainforests. Legend has it that the name Bhimashankar was originated from the river Bhima which evaporated due to the generated between the war of Lord Shiva and the demon Tripurasura. It is considered to be one of the holiest places in India because of the jyotirlinga. Bhimashankar is also a popular destination for trekkers. Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary is another important reason why people come here

Day 1

• 01:15 am : Meet-up, freshen up, move towards the base village in taxi
• 01:30 am : Leave for base village in a private taxi
• 02:45 am : Reach base village, rest for some time
• 04:30 am : have breakfast and tea
• 05:00 am : Introduction round and brief on rules and regulations to be followed by everyone on the event
• 05:30 am : Have Breakfast and Start descending towards the base
• 10:00 am : Reach top, Enjoy the view of the surrounding, Visit Bhimashankar Temple
• 01:00 pm : After Lunch Start descend back to the base
• 06:30 pm : Reach Base Village and Start the return Journey towards Karjat Railway Station
• 07:30 pm : Reach Karjat station and take a return train to mumbai
• 09:00 pm : Reach Mumbai and bid adieu with a promise to meet soon

• Torch with extra batteries, pocket knife
• Personal medicines
• Good trekking shoes preferably ‘Action’ brand - Trekking Shoes
• Haversack/backpack to carry all things.

• Windcheater, scarves, jackets, extra pair of socks and clothes

• Transfer Rs.1050/- per person. Payment once done is non-refundable, do check for availability before making a payment.

• Floaters and sandals are not allowed
• Do not carry purse, side sling bags not allowed

• Do not litter the place as it is in great need of being maintained and adopted
• Leader/ Organizer will not be responsible for any accident, mishap or compensation in whatsoever manner
• We should strictly follow the code of conduct, to avoid troubling our fellow trekkers or other people from our group or even locals
• Smoking and drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited
• Trek leader’s decision will be final and binding
